Akron, OH, Nov 6, 2014 —Star Energy Partners LLC, a premier provider of electricity and energy related products and services, today announced that CEO, Tony Banks, was selected as an expert panelist to speak at the Executive Forum at the 2014 PJM Market Summit. Banks discussed potential changes to generation portfolio strategies as a result of the Environmental Law and Policy (EPA) Clean Power Plan and its effect on the energy industry.

The EPA recently proposed the Clean Power Plan to reduce carbon emissions from power plants. Such regulations may have an impact on energy suppliers like Star Energy Partners, an Ohio-based energy retailer, that offers energy solutions for homes and businesses in competitive markets.

“The EPA Clean Power Plan presents an opportunity for all of us to expand our thinking,” Banks said to an audience of industry leaders, “The energy customer should ultimately benefit,” he added.

Banks encouraged states to develop resources that will allow individuals and businesses to take more control of how they satisfy their electricity needs.

“Utilities should be obligated to individually serve each and every customer, by allowing them the full economic benefits of small scale local generation.” Banks closed by stating, “There should be focus on technologies that will help lower our nation’s impact on the environment.”

The Executive Forum was part of the three-day PJM Market Summit in Philadelphia that featured industry experts from a variety of organizations.

Banks has a distinguished career in the energy industry. As an expert in the competitive energy market, Banks has also provided testimony to government agencies on matters of policy and tariff filings.
