Star Energy Partners to Offer Renewable Energy Plans to Consumers
Star Energy Partners has joined the green energy revolution by offering innovative plans to electricity customers in Ohio and the surrounding area. These plans allow consumers to join the fight to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, achieve energy independence, and drive economic growth in America.
A key component of Star Energy’s newly added green energy plans are Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) – electricity that is generated by a renewable source such as wind, biomass, hydro, and solar power. For every megawatt hour Star Energy customers use, the company will purchase an equal amount of RECs on the consumers’ behalf. The additional RECs support the ongoing investment in clean, renewable energy while supporting the movement to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, achieve energy independence in America.
Customers have the option of two green-energy plans through Star Energy:
The Local Plan allows customers to choose RECs which support Ohio-certified renewable energy. These sources can be a mix of wind, solar, biomass or hydropower from facilities in Ohio or adjacent states.
The National Plan allows customers to choose the RECs that support wind-generated power supplied anywhere across the nation. Additional details about the new green energy plans and rates can be found here.
By entering into the renewable energy market, including RECs, Star Energy Partners is showing a commitment to renewable energy production that will sustain the earth’s resources for future generations.
